YMCA Camp Greider
Since 1978, YMCA Camp Greider has been provided a safe place for campers to explore, learn, and grow. Creating memorable, engaging, and educational experiences for campers is our goal and we can’t imagine a better setting than 80-acres of beautiful land in the West Salem Hills.
Throughout a week at Camp Greider your camper will create life-long memories, develop new friendships, improve their confidence, and build social-emotional skills. Our play-based, nature focused programming will introduce campers to the four core values of the Y: honesty, respect, responsibility, and caring.

Camp Life
A typical day at Camp Greider allows campers the chance to participate in a variety of outdoor activities similar to those at overnight residential camps including swimming, archery, arts and crafts, gaga ball, hiking, canoeing, outdoor skills, large group games, nature study, kayaking and more. We encourage our staff to think creatively and facilitate activities campers may not have the chance to do in town.

Our Staff
The people who work at Camp Greider are our biggest asset. Their special interest in recreation, education and youth development, and they enthusiasm for active learning makes all programs a fun experience.
Each summer an experienced Leadership Team is employed to run our programs. This group of individuals have experience at working with youth, at camp and beyond. Together they oversee the daily operations and ensure a fun and high quality experience for all.
Staff are chosen based on their previous experiences with youth, with preference given to those with a background in education, recreation, or child development. Many staff have prior experience at other summer camps or in a school setting.
All staff are CPR and Standard First Aid certified, have passed a background check, and have participated in extensive orientation and training programs. These initiatives emphasize safety and provide tools and resources for addressing common situations that may arise.
