Tim Sinatra is a highly experienced non-profit CEO noted for innovation in programs to support youth, family, and community development; collaborating with community organizations to meet local, regional, and statewide needs; and bringing strategic focus, financial stability, and growth to organizations. Sinatra served as the director of organizational development for the Oregon Department of Human Services. Before that, he was the CEO of Eliada Homes in Asheville, NC, which provides a range of services to children and families. Sinatra spent 23 years with the Boys and Girls Clubs of America, serving as CEO of organizations in California, Virginia, and Salem. During his time as the CEO of the Boys and Girls Clubs of Salem, Marion, and Polk Counties, Sinatra was named the Boys and Girls Clubs of America Western Region Professional of the Year. He served as the president of the Oregon State Alliance, which conducted state and federal lobbying efforts. Sinatra holds a bachelor’s degree in sociology and a master’s degree in business administration. He lives in Salem with his wife, Christy.

Jessica was born and raised in Salem where she graduated from North Salem High School and Chemeketa Community College before moving on to Boise State University. She spent 12 years with the Boys & Girls Club and most recently was on the Grants Team at Travel Oregon. She lives with her husband and two kids. Her hobbies include gardening, photography, fishing, and road trips to Eastern Oregon.

Andrea started working for the YMCA part-time in May of 2015 and rapidly rose through the ranks to become the branch director of the Monmouth-Independence Family YMCA. Andrea specializes in health and wellness, holding certifications through the American Council of Exercise in personal training, group fitness, weight management, fitness nutrition, and as a health coach.

Bobbi brings extensive administrative experience and a passion for service to her work for the Y. Prior to 2020, she logged 15 years in customer service, served as the administrative assistant for a property management company, and transcribed for several non-profit ministries. She is most proud to be a wife, a mother of 4 boys, and a grandmother to five rising stars. In her free time, she is a volunteer in her church.

Jordan Blake is an accomplished nonprofit director with a heart to serve our community. Growing up in Keizer on a fourth generation farm, graduating from McNary and working for his parents’ separate businesses, Jordan honed a strong work ethic that he took with him as he joined the Navy and saw the world at a young age while serving our country.

Always challenging the status quo, Jordan has built a reputation as a doer with a good heart. With a mind for and degree in public policy and administration, entrepreneurship, and social sciences, together with 30 years of work experience has led Jordan to his dream job. Jordan is a person who is attentive and at the ready to bring a new dawn with our new Y shining as beacon of light, embracing the challenge to overcome obstacles to live as the whole, mindful, and fit humans that we are and have the capability of being. 

Valerie Geer, Community Outreach Chaplain

Dr. Valerie Geer brings 25 years of experience in Christian service to the Family YMCA of Marion and Polk Counties. Her ministry career includes:

  • A variety of roles in Christian higher education, from chapel ministry to community service programs to curriculum development and instruction
  • Intercultural training and teaching English to speakers of other languages
  • Advocacy for those experiencing domestic violence, sexual assault and human trafficking
  • Advocacy for individuals (and their families) experiencing mental illness
  • Leading Bible studies and small groups

Valerie finds joy and fulfillment in listening to and supporting people from a wide variety of backgrounds as they engage faith in their contexts.

Valerie is a Doctor of Intercultural Studies (Western Seminary, 2017), holds an MA in Intercultural Studies & TESOL (Wheaton College, 2004), and earned a BA in Church Ministries with a Concentration in Intercultural Studies (Northwest University, 1999).

Valerie has lived in Salem, Oregon for the past twelve years with her best friend and husband of 24 years, Nathan, and their four sons. She is an avid reader, loves watching her kids play sports and music, and finds refreshment spending time outside hiking, kayaking and paddle boarding.
