Human Resource Director

Position Summary:

The HR Director oversees the development and implementation of talent management/human resources
policies, plans and services, including recruitment, selection, legal compliance, employee benefits,
compensation, employee relations, diversity and inclusion, employment practices and procedures, employee
communications and events. The HR Director will also be responsible for recruiting, onboarding, and retaining
our volunteers. The HR Director positions the Y as a community convener and collaborator to address critical
social issues.

Full-time exempt or Part Time Non-Exempt
$50,000 to $60,000 DOE

Silverton Membership Specialist

Position Summary:

Membership Specialist is responsible for the development and execution of programs and membership engagement, retention and sales activities. Using an interview format, the membership specialist assesses the individual needs, wants and interests of each potential participant and/or member and matches them to YMCA childcare, youth programs and membership. Enthusiastically explains the benefits of YMCA childcare, youth programs and memberships and effectively closes the sale. Provides a point of contact for parents, program participants and members and performs retention activities. To model, practice and carry out the Y core values of Caring, Honesty, Respect and Responsibility.

Camp Greider Director - Salem

Position Summary:

Under the guidance of the Camping Services Director, the Camp Director is responsible for administering the operations of YMCA Camp Greider. Camp Greider Summer Staff

YMCA Camp Greider Day Camp is all about making friends, having fun, and learning new skills. We believe the best place to spent the summer is outside at our beautiful 80-acre camp in the hills of West Salem.

We have a waterfront for canoeing and kayaking, an archery range, fields for large group games, miles of hiking trails, a heated pool, and a lodge for arts and crafts and wet weather. Each day is full of fun and engaging activities!

Campers are in groups of 10-12 children and 2 counselors. Our staff is selected based on past experience working with children, enthusiasm for child development and camp, and their ability to be creative and fun. Staff receives intensive training each summer and follows all American Camping Association and CDC guidelines and regulations.

Camp Silver Creek Summer Staff

Since 1938, Camp Silver Creek has been a magical place for children and adults alike. Campers love the dramatic setting, the fun, well-organized activities, and the friendships they form. Parents love the safety, healthy break from screen time, fresh air and exercise, and the maturity their kids gain during their weeks at camp.

The emphasis on respect, responsibility, honesty, and caring invite campers to explore their own moral foundations. Campers return changed, more independent, with an identify in a special world. Many members of our summer staff are former Camp Silver Creek campers.

Located deep inside Oregon's Silver Falls State Park, Camp Silver Creek includes: 24 open-air campers cabins, a small lake for boating and fishing, arts and crafts area, archery range, heated pool, miles of hiking trails and woods, and open fields for games.

Lifeguard/Swim Instructor - Silverton

Position Summary:

The lifeguard’s primary responsibility is to oversee the activities of pool participants in an organized, positive atmosphere with the emphasis being on the protection of the participants and the prevention of injury or loss to the participants and the facility. 

Minimum Requirements:

Minimum age, 15
Current YMCA Lifeguard, American Red Cross Lifeguard, or other acceptable certification.
Current CPRPR and First Aid certification.

Position Summary: To follow the planned curriculum as well as the direction of the Site Director and Multi-Site Coordinator. To supervise groups of school age children and ensure all children’s individual needs are met with dignity and respect as well as their safety by following YMCA policies and procedures. Entry Requirements

AIDE I

  • At least 15 years of age
  • Obtain hands-on Pediatric First Aid & CPR Certification
  • Food Handler’s Card

AIDE II

  • At least 18 years of age
  • Have worked at least four months in the school‐age program where they are now employed
  • Obtain hands-on Pediatric First Aid & CPR Certification
  • Food Handler’s Card
