Program Details
Our aquatics programs welcome all ages and skill levels. Certified instructors and lifeguards ensure a safe, supportive environment for every participant.
Ages Served
6 months and up — lessons and classes grouped by age and ability.
Schedule
Year-round swim lessons and seasonal sessions are available at all Y branches.
Instructor Qualifications
All YMCA swim instructors are certified and trained in CPR, AED, and water safety.

Swim Teams
Swim Teams operate from our Withnell and Silver Falls branches year-round, with varying options depending on your swimmer’s age and experience.
Silver Falls Rapids Swim Club

Interested in joining your local swim team? Silver Falls Rapids Swim Club is a year-round competitive team that practices at the Silver Falls YMCA in Silverton, Oregon. We are a USA Swimming certified swim club. Our team welcomes a wide range of ability levels ages 5-18 years old.
Short Course Season September-February
Long Course Season March-July
Recreational Summer League June & July
We take a break for the month of August.
Tryouts for short course season will take place August 24th to August 27th. The Rapids 2026-2027 short course season will run September through February. Long Course Season will begin after short course championship season concludes, mid-March.

Swimming FAQs
We offer classes for ages 6 months through adults, with levels for every stage of ability.
Non-members are welcome; members receive discounted rates and early registration.
