Annual YMCA Christmas Party & Auction Recap

For the first time in the history of the YMCA Christmas Party & Auction the event was sold out as more than 200 guests packed the Green Villa Barn in Independence to help raise money for the Y.

Guests were entertained before dinner by the Central High School Jazz Ensemble as well as the YMCA’s Inspiration Dance Company and cheerleaders. After the auction had ended, Pisces Moon closed the night playing songs from their latest CD.

There were silent and live auction items, as Polk County Commissioner Mike Ainsworth entertained the crowd as the auctioneer helping the event raise more than $20,000 for the Monmouth-Independence YMCA.

Special thanks to Natascha Cronin for her leadership throughout the event as well as the countless number of volunteers that helped this year’s event run smoothly.
